Pac-10 Championship Game: Arizona Leads, 36-33, At Halftime

Arizona leads Washington, 36-33 at halftime of the 2011 Pac-10 Tournament Championship game. Isaiah Thomas is dominating for Washington, with 19 points, but Arizona has the lead with a more balanced effort.

Thomas scored 19 first-half points, slicing his way through the Arizona defense. Unfortunately for the Huskies, most of his teammates have not performed well. The Huskies stifled Arizona briefly with a zone defense, but Arizona figured it out and started hitting threes.

Derrick Williams leads Arizona with nine points, and also has four rebounds and two assists. Arizona hasn’t gotten him the ball much, but he’s still made a major impact in other areas of the game. He’s flashed the kind of complete game that has NBA scouts drooling over his potential. While Thomas is the star of this game, Williams may be making more of an impact on the game.

Washington is likely in the NCAA Tournament either way, but a win would clinch it.
