NCAA Bracket Predictions 2011: Picking Every Game Of March Madness’ West Region

Here are SB Nation’s Chris Dobbertean’s NCAA Tournament 2011 bracket predictions for the West Region. Print out your own 2011 March Madness bracket here to fill in your selections:

West Region

Second Round
No. 1 Duke over No. 16 Hampton, as there will be no upset here either.
No. 8 Michigan over No. 9 Tennessee, simply because you have no idea which Volunteer team will show up.
No. 5 Arizona over No. 12 Memphis, though the correct answer is “Whichever team makes the fewest silly mistakes.”
No. 13 Oakland over No. 4 Texas, as the Golden Grizzlies’ talented bigs will cause the Longhorns real trouble.
No. 11 Missouri over No. 6 Cincinnati, since the Tigers will enter this one with a significant chip on their shoulders.
No. 3 Connecticut over No. 14 Bucknell, even if the Huskies may be tired from their Big East Tournament run.
No. 7 Temple over No. 10 Penn State, giving Fran Dunphy his first Tournament win as boss of the Owls.
No. 2 San Diego State over No. 15 Northern Colorado, giving the Aztecs’ a tournament win, finally.

Third Round
No. 1 Duke over No. 8 Michigan, as the Wolverines’ surprising late-season run comes to an end.
No. 13 Oakland over No. 5 Arizona, Derrick Williams against Keith Benson would be a great interior matchup if it comes to pass.
No. 3 Connecticut over No. 11 Missouri, hopefully in an overtime thriller, like the Tigers early season loss to Georgetown.
No. 2 San Diego State over No. 7 Temple, as the Owls don’t have the interior depth to compete with the Aztecs.

Regional Semifinals
No. 1 Duke over No. 13 Oakland, ending the Golden Grizzlies’ run.
No. 2 San Diego State over No. 3 Connecticut, too many games and too much travel has to catch up to the Huskies eventually.

Regional Final
No. 1 Duke over No. 2 San Diego State, with the Blue Devils’ guards being the difference.
