After a lengthy decision-making process, Kansas Jayhawks freshman guard Josh Selby has announced he'll leave the school for the 2011 NBA Draft. This comes as no real shock, as he spent several days in April prepping for the draft in Las Vegas. He took to Twitter to share the news, declaring the following:
Josh Selby Leaving Kansas Basketball For 2011 NBA Draft
I want to thank all the ku fans who supported me through everything and all the fans who doubting me. I will miss the the fieldhouse. But it's a new journey in my life now. I will not return to Kansas next year. Making my dream a reality. #NBA baby.
He then, of course, responded to a number of followers who brought out their best NBA D-League jokes. Considering Selby’s one season in Lawrence ended with him on the bench for all but about 10 minutes per game down the regular season stretch and the postseason -- AKA all the important games -- it’s hard to get too pumped about his draft status.
