Shelvin Mack is leaving Butler to try his luck in the NBA Draft, according to Yahoo!‘s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Shelvin Mack Will Remain In NBA Draft, Leave Butler
After leading Butler University to consecutive Final Fours, junior guard Shelvin Mack has decided to stay in the 2011 NBA Draft, a source with knowledge of the decision told Yahoo! Sports.
Mack started to inform people of his choice on Saturday and is expected to hold a news conference with his college coach, Brad Stevens, on Tuesday in Indianapolis.
Mack is expected to be a fringe first round pick in the NBA Draft, as his excellent shooting and instincts will have to make up for a lack of height. SB Nation’s Mid-Major Madness did a superb job of breaking down Mack’s game last month.
Mack was an integral part of Butler’s consecutive runs to the NCAA Tournament final. In 2010-11, he was second only to Matt Howard in scoring on the Bulldogs roster, and led the team in assists.
