LSU Tigers WR Russell Shepard announced Wednesday that he is going pro.
“Thanks for your support Tiger Nation, but I have to do what’s best for my family and myself. Geaux Tigers.”
Shepard came to LSU as a dual threat quarterback but moved to reciever. He finished the season with 14 receptions for 190 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 52 yards on seven carries after serving a three-game suspension at the beginning of the year over an NCAA violation.
Shepard didn't touch the ball in the last two games, including the National Championship game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. As a sophomore, he had 33 receptions for 254 yards and a touchdown.
