Remember when Russell Shepard announced he was leaving LSU earlier this week? It wasn’t a report or word from sources: Shepard himself announced, on Twitter, that he was leaving LSU and entering the 2012 NFL Draft. It was a puzzling move considering the circumstances, but Shepard’s string of tweets -- which felt like missiles directed at the Tigers’ coaching staff and quarterback -- seemed to explain it.

If you missed it, Shepard burned every bridge out of Baton Rogue on Wednesday. And yet, here we are: the bridges are repaired two days later and Shepard is back in the fold at LSU.

If there was any question at this point, Les Miles is the best recruiter ever. He took a player who walked out of town with middle fingers held high and convinced said player to come back for one more year in the span of two days. No idea what he did, but don’t doubt the Hatter.
