Senior forward Tyler Zeller scored 30 points in his final home game as the No. 6 North Carolina Tar Heels cruised to a 24-point win over the Maryland Terrapins at the Dean E. Smith Center in Chapel Hill, N.C., Wednesday night.
No. 6 North Carolina vs. Maryland: Tar Heels Roll Past Terrapins, 88-64
Tyler Zeller scored 30 points as No. 6 North Carolina blew out the Maryland Terrapins on Wednesday night.
In addition to Zeller's 30 points, Carolina got 19 points and nine rebounds from forward John Henson, 12 points from guard Reggie Bullock and 10 points from forward Harrison Barnes. The Tar Heels improved to 26-4 overall and 13-2 in the ACC with the win and will ride a six-game winning streak into Saturday night's regular season finale against the No. 3 Duke Blue Devils.
The Terrapins dropped to 16-13 overall and 6-9 within the ACC with a Sunday afternoon home game against the Virginia Cavaliers closing out their regular season schedule. Guard Nick Faust led the Terps with 17 points on seven-of-11 shooting, while forward James Padgett had 13 points to go along with his game-high 13 rebounds.
