The San Diego St. Aztecs picked up a 66-53 victory over the Boise St. Broncos on Wednesday night to stay in a tie for first place in the Mountain West. However, it is only a two-way tie with the New Mexico Lobos, who also have a 9-4 record. The UNLV Rebels dropped one game behind following an upset loss to the Colorado St. Rams on Wednesday.

Jamaal Franklin led the way for the Aztecs with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Three other starters scored in double digits, including 11 each from Chase Tapley and Tim Shelton.

While San Diego State shot 50 percent from the field, Boise State was just 40.8 percent from there. Derrick Marks had a team-high 13 points, but only Anthony Drmic's 10 points joined him in the double-digit points effort. Poor three-point shooting (2-of-16) and free throw shots (11-of-25) attested to the team's troubles.

The Aztecs close out the regular season with a road game against the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday.
