College Football Rankings: Ohio State Falls, Will Plummet

Ohio State’s 31-18 loss in Madison will drop the Buckeyes in the college football polls. But it might be more significant in its ramifications for the national landscape.

The Buckeyes were top-ranked in all of the major polls, and that means that there will be a new number one next week. It will likely be idle Oregon, as the Ducks ascend to the top spot for the first time in program history.

Boise State should be sitting pretty, too. The Broncos will probably move up to second in both polls, putting them well within striking range of the BCS Championship Game.
