Apparently not everyone in Oklahoma is excited about their No. 1 ranking in the first installment of the BCS standings. Including the Sooners themselves, who, despite their 6-0 record, don’t think they’re deserving of the top spot.
Oklahoma Focused On Missouri, Not BCS Standings
↵↵“Not that I don’t think we’re one of the best in the country, I don’t think we deserved it yet,” said Lewis, a defensive captain. “I think we’ve played two good games and then the rest have been inconsistent. Put someone deserving of it up there.”
↵↵Get through Missouri on Saturday though, and Oklahoma is one step closer to a possible 12-0 record heading into the Big XII Championship game (after the Tigers, the Sooners only face two teams with winning marks in their final five games: at Baylor and at No. 17 Oklahoma State).
↵But for now, Oklahoma is staying focused on Missouri, said head coach Bob Stoops: “We’ve played two conference games, and our whole focus and attitude is on them. That’s it.”
