Alabama Vs. South Carolina: Alshon Jeffery, Marcus Lattimore Combine To Put Gamecocks Up By Two Touchdowns

South Carolina needed big plays. It went to its two brightest stars to get them.

Marcus Lattimore ran for 18 yards and finished the Gamecocks’ drive with a one-yard touchdown run that, after the PAT, put South Carolina up 35-21. But it was Alshon Jeffery’s tremendous one-handed catch — hauled in while Dre Kirkpatrick tugged on his jersey — that keyed the South Carolina drive.

That was a 45-yard reception, and took the Gamecocks from midfield to the red zone. It’s also may be the single best play of the Steve Spurrier era at South Carolina.
