In Minneapolis, unranked Minnesota is in position to deal a crushing blow to No. 24 Iowa. After springing to an early 10-0 lead, Minnesota lost the lead to Iowa in the fourth quarter, but the Gophers have managed to strike back.
Iowa Vs. Minnesota: Gophers Re-Take Lead In Fourth Quarter, In Pursuit Of Floyd Of Rosedale
The Gophers forced yet another punt out of the Hawkeyes, and quarterback Adam Weber set to work immediately. Down 24-20, Weber started the drive with completions of 19 and 40 yards. The drive ended with a 6-yard touchdown run by Duane Bennett.
Iowa then received the ball with about 4:30 left in the game. However, disaster struck for the Hawkeyes, as running back Marcus Coker fumbled away the ball on Iowa’s first play from scrimmage. Minnesota has taken over, and will now try to kill as much clock as possible.
If Minnesota hangs on to win Floyd of Rosedale, this will be both a huge upset for a 2-9 team and a devastating end to Iowa’s season. Stay tuned.
