There’s an upset brewing in College Station.
Oklahoma, considered the shoo-in winner of the Big 12 South, is struggling mightily with Texas A&M. The Aggies raced out to a 19-0 lead, and have held onto it: the score is now 26-17 in A&M’s favor in the fourth quarter.
The Aggies have shut down the Oklahoma running game and limited Landry Jones through the air. DeMarco Murray has just 64 yards on 20 carries, and Jones is just 24 of 41 through the air.
Texas A&M's been very successful running the ball so far. The Aggies are averaging 4.5 yards per carry, and Cyrus Gray has topped the century mark. Kick returner Coryell Judie has also gotten in on the action, returning the kickoff to start the second half for 100 yards and a touchdown.
If Oklahoma falls, the Big 12 South leader would be the surprising Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Ryan Tannehill was 19-of-32 for 225 yards, 2 TDs and a pair of interceptions. Cyrus Gray ran for 122 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries. Landry Jones threw the ball a jaw-dropping 59 times for Oklahoma, completing 36 of them for 290 yards, a touchdown and an interception. But the Sooners ground game was, well, grounded. Oklahoma generated just 72 yards and 44 rushes.
Statistical oddity: Despite losing and being outgained by the Aggies by 20 yards, the Sooners had 12 more first downs (29-17). They completed almost half their third downs (11-of-23). But when a team dig a 19-point hole to begin the game, it’s pretty hard for said team to fight out of the hole if it doesn’t score until the third quarter.

Oklahoma already needed a lot of things to go right to mount a comeback in this game, but a goal-line stand by Texas A&M with time winding down probably wipes out whatever slim chance the Sooners had.
But don’t write the Sooners off quite yet. They blocked the punt on the next Aggies drive, and now are down 33-19 and about to get the ball back.
