More bad news for the Iowa Hawkeyes: RB Adam Robinson, the team’s leading offensive weapon, has been suspended from the Hawkeyes Insight Bowl appearance against the Missouri Tigers for violating unspecified team rules. After losing all-time receiving leader Derrell Johnson-Koulianos due to the senior receiver’s arrest on charges of running a trap house, Iowa’s offense is vanishing left and right.
Adam Robinson Suspended, Jewel Hampton Transferring From Iowa Football
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz:
While Adam has been cleared medically, he will not be participating in the upcoming Insight Bowl game as a result of failing to comply with team expectations and policies. Adam will have the option to rejoin the team when classes resume in January.
Iowa will also be without RB Jewel Hampton, who plans to transfer to another school. Ferentz again:
Jewel Hampton has decided to leave the team and plans to transfer to another school to complete his degree and finish his career. We wish him the best of success in the future.
Robinson has put together 1,231 total yards from scrimmage this season. Hampton has added 120.
