On Dec. 13, Adam Robinson, Iowa’s top running back, was suspended after “failing to comply with team expectations and policies.” And now, Monday night, exactly two weeks later, Robinson has been arrested and charged with marijuana possession in Des Moines, Iowa.
Adam Robinson Arrested For Marijuana Possession During Suspension
Robinson was the passenger in a car originally stopped by a state trooper because it did not have a front license plate. The trooper smelled marijuana, searched the car and found the drugs. The driver, Ermin Zornic, was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and was taken to the Polk County Jail. Robinson was cited for possession and released with a court date set for Jan. 5.
Iowa is in Tempe, Arizona to play Missouri in the Insight Bowl Tuesday night. Robinson was not allowed to make the trip.
Robinson, a sophomore, has led the Hawkeyes in rushing each of the past two seasons, including 2010 when he recorded 993 yards in 10 games with 10 touchdowns.
