Forcier’s departure was related to academics, according to John Wilner of the San Jose Mercury-News, and leaves San Jose State with a largely unproven pack of quarterbacks behind him.

Forcier was scheduled to visit the school this weekend, but those plans are now off after the school received his transcripts from Michigan and projected that he did not meet the requirements to join the team for the Fall semester, which gets underway on August 22.

Forcier was ruled academically ineligible for the Gator Bowl and left the program.

Now it seems that Tate is looking to the WAC or Mountain West as his new home. It’s just a question of which school.
