The Hawaii Warriors pursuit of Tate Forcier has ended due to academic issues with the former Michigan quarterback, Stephen Tsai of the Star Advertiser reports.

Forcier was scheduled to visit the school this weekend, but those plans are now off after the school received his transcripts from Michigan and projected that he did not meet the requirements to join the team for the Fall semester, which gets underway on August 22.
A highly-touted recruit out of San Diego, Forcier was named the starter at Michigan as a true freshman. Forcier completed 58.7 percent of his 281 pass attempts as a freshman for 2,050 yards with 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. After losing his starting job to fellow sophomore Denard Robinson in 2010, Forcier came off the bench to complete 54-of-84 pass attempts for 597 with four touchdowns and four interceptions.
Forcier was ruled academically ineligible for the Gator Bowl and left the program.
Forcier planned to transfer to the Miami Hurricanes, but cited family reasons when backing out in May.
As for the Warriors quarterback situation, Tsai names freshman David Graves as the leading candidate to start in 2012, which would have been Forcier's first season with the team.
