Tate Forcier Withdraws From San Jose State

The saga of erstwhile Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier took another turn on Monday, when Forcier withdrew from San Jose State, where he transferred in the summer of 2010.

Forcier, who led Michigan to a 4-0 start in 2009, has been the subject of all manner of transfer rumors since being supplanted as the Wolverines' starting quarterback by Denard Robinson before the 2010 season. Early in 2011, after being ruled academically ineligible to play for Michigan in the 2011 Gator Bowl, Forcier announced his decision to transfer from Michigan via Twitter, and considered schools like Washington and Kansas State before eventually deciding to transfer to Miami in February.

However, Forcier never made it to Coral Gables, instead deciding to continue looking for another school, and considered Hawai’i before ultimately choosing to transfer to San Jose State.

Forcier’s departure was related to academics, according to John Wilner of the San Jose Mercury-News, and leaves San Jose State with a largely unproven pack of quarterbacks behind him.
