Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas said he expects to play in Saturday's game at Colorado, despite reports that suggested red-shirt freshman Bryan Bennett had been taking all the snaps with the first-team during closed-door practices. Running back LaMichael James is also nursing an injury and could miss Saturday's game, as well.
Darron Thomas Injury Update: Oregon QB Expects To Play Vs. Colorado
Thomas injured his knee last week against Arizona State in the third quarter of a 41-27 victory. Prior to his injury, Thomas was having a solid game. He had completed 13 of 17 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns. He had also rushed for 74 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
After Thomas was hurt on a Colin Parker sack, Bennett entered the game and eventually led the Ducks on three scoring drives, the first of which allowed them to regain the lead. Bennett ended up going just 2 of 5 for 22 yards passing, but kept the ball moving with 66 yards rushing.
