UAB Vs. UCF Final Score: Dragons Beat Knights For Once

The UAB Blazers entered their Thursday night tilt with the Central Florida Knights sitting at a well-earned 0-6. A pair of those losses were within a score, but this is by no means one of those teams with a deceptive record.

Nevertheless, UAB managed to down power conference hopeful UCF, 26-24, on a last-minute field goal by Ty Long.

Blazers backup quarterback Jonathan Perry led his team from their own 11-yard line with five minutes left to reach field goal range, aided by a 15-yard Knights penalty on third-and-long. UAB outgained UCF by 167 yards, 500 to 333, was better on third downs and matched turnover for turnover, so it's kind of a wonder this one came down to the final ticks.

(Sure you still want to break into Orlando, Big East?)
