Florida's had to deal with a fair bit of adversity both entering and during its rivalry game against Georgia. But the Gators and John Brantley are weathering it so far, and lead 7-0 in one of the wilder World's Largest Cocktail Party match-ups in recent memory.
Florida Vs. Georgia Score: John Brantley Helps Gators Score First, Somehow
Florida didn't score on its first drive, despite Jeff Demps breaking free for a 72-yard catch-and-run. And Florida took until a fourth and 19 on its second drive to make something happen: Brantley, playing on an injured ankle that limits his movement, escaped a blitz and found Jordan Reed for a touchdown to put the Gators on top.
And then Florida immediately created its first turnover in almost a month, a Marcus Roberson interception that gave the Gators the ball in the Georgia red zone ... only to end up backing up 25 yards and being forced to punt.
Yeah, this one’s going exactly as everyone predicted.
