USC Vs. Stanford Score: Cardinal Strike First In Overtime

It figures this game went to overtime. All night, Stanford and USC have battled back and forth, throwing punches and countering at The Coliseum. It’s been one of those kinds of games.

After Stanford punched it in from close-range with 38 seconds to go, USC drove to the end of field goal range. But Robert Woods took too long running across the field and trying to get out of bounds on a tunnel screen and USC never got a chance for the game-winning field goal in regulation. The clock struck zero as Woods went down, sending the game to overtime.

USC won the toss and elected to play defense first, putting the ball in Andrew Luck’s hands to start overtime. Luck and the Cardinal calmly drove down the field in methodical fashion, driving inside the five with relative ease.

With the ball at the one, Jeremy Stewart went over the top of the pile, giving Stanford the lead. It’s 41-34 for now, and USC has its shot next. The Trojans need a touchdown and the extra point to keep the game going.
