Dominique Whaley Injury: Oklahoma Running Back May Be Out For Year With Broken Ankle

Oklahoma will have to carry on in its high-scoring match-up with Kansas State without walk-on-turned-star Dominique Whaley. The running back suffered a broken ankle in the first quarter, and is likely to be lost for the season. (For live scoring updates on the game, head to our Oklahoma-Kansas State events page.)

The Sooners haven’t really missed Whaley so far, turning to their passing game to make mincemeat of Kansas State’s secondary. But Whaley has been Oklahoma’s leading rusher this season, rolling up 627 yards entering this Saturday, slightly more than half of the Sooners’ rushing yardage so far.

Look for Roy Finch and Brennan Clay to take Whaley's place in the Oklahoma offense.
