Florida Vs. Georgia Halftime Score: World’s Wildest SEC East Grudge Match

Florida and Georgia seem hell-bent on playing another entertaining edition of The Rivalry Formerly Known As The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. At the half, Florida leads, 17-10. (For live scoring updates, head to our Florida-Georgia events page.)

The Gators raced out to a 17-3 lead that could have been even bigger, thanks to two returning players. Brantley, returning from an ankle injury that has kept him out of Florida’s last two games, threw for 226 yards and a touchdown in the first half.

Jeff Demps, recovering from his own ankle injury, has had two big plays, too, racing 72 yards on an early catch-and-run and taking a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.

And the Gators left points on the field, too, with Brad Phillips missing a field goal and Florida’s offense coughing up 25 yards on a drive that began in Georgia’s red zone.

But Georgia is still fully in the game, despite an Aaron Murray interception, a missed field goal by Blair Walsh, and multiple special teams miscues. The Bulldogs capitalized on a Chris Rainey fumble near the end of the first half to score their only touchdown of the half, with Murray connecting with Michael Bennett on a fourth down fade for a scoring pass.
