We’ve replaced Iowa State with Oklahoma State, let’s see if anyone notices! Through one quarter of play in Lubbock, the Cyclones have a surprising 21-0 lead over Texas Tech, one week after the Red Raiders’ upset win over Oklahoma shoot here for Texas Tech-Iowa State score updates and here for game stories from around the country).
Texas Tech Vs. Iowa State Score Update: Who Are These Cyclones?
The Iowa State lead should actually be more at this point. Texas Tech fumbled a kickoff late in the first quarter, but Iowa State generously gave the ball back inside the five with the score at 21-0. It was simply a dominant first quarter.
Jared Barrett completed 7-of-11 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown for the Cyclones in the first quarter. Barrett also rushed for 65 yards and a score, with Jeff Woody adding another touchdown on the ground.
Could the Cyclones pick up their first Big 12 win this year? It’s still early, but Texas Tech is on upset alert.*
*We reserve the right to cancel this when Texas Tech scores 21 points in the blink of an eye.
