Tennessee may be without quarterback Tyler Bray for an extended period of time after he reportedly sustained a broken thumb sometime during the Vols' loss to Georgia on Saturday. Bray threw for 251 yards in the loss, but was replaced by Matt Simms late in the game after leaving with the injury.
Tyler Bray Injury: Broken Thumb May Sideline Tennessee QB At Least Four Weeks
Tyler Bray reportedly suffered a broken thumb on Saturday and may miss at least four weeks as a result.
According to Tony Barnhart, Bray’s broken thumb may cost him at least four weeks.
Hearing Tyler Bray out for four weeks minimum. Tough break for Tennessee.
If true, Tennessee would be in serious trouble, with the meat of its schedule upcoming. The Vols face No. 1 LSU this coming weekend and No. 2 Alabama the next, and an offense without Bray is far less potent than one with him.
On the year, Bray has completed 98 of 143 passes for 1,328 yards, 14 touchdowns and two interceptions. Tennessee fell to 3-2 with Saturday’s 20-12 loss to the Bulldogs, and faces an uphill battle in the SEC East going forward, especially if Bray is out.
