And about midway through the first quarter, we have a tie game. Isaiah Pead opened things up with a 40-yard touchdown run to cap off a 54-yard scoring drive for the Bearcats. Pead has 84 yards overall on six carries. Zach Collaros is 5-of-8 for 59 yards. Geno Smith is 5-of-11 for 96 yards, including a 59-yard pass to Stedman Bailey.
So far, though, the West Virginia running game is having trouble making any headway. The Mountaineers have lost four yards on the ground so far.
