South Carolina Vs. Florida Score: Connor Shaw Helping Gamecocks Run By Gators

South Carolina's offense was limited early on by Florida's pass rush and coverage, so Steve Spurrier has given Connor Shaw free rein to run, and he's done so to great effect, giving the Gamecocks a 7-3 lead over the Gators midway through the third quarter in Columbia.

Shaw has run for 54 yards and a touchdown, on scrambles, draws, and option keepers, and has helped South Carolina find a way to make things happen after throwing an early interception that led to Florida’s field goal.

The Gators, on the other hand, are suffering the ill effects of having a nearly immobile quarterback. John Brantley has been besieged by the Gamecocks' pass rush, coughing up a fumble to South Carolina once and missing receivers time and again. He's completed three of seven passes so far.
