Sammy Watkins Injury Update: Sprained AC Joint, Status Uncertain

Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins left Saturday’s matchup with Wake Forest after suffering an apparent shoulder injury. At the time, the Tigers trailed by 11, but railed back to come away with a three-point win, 31-28. With the win in hand, the attention turned to Watkins, the speedy multipurpose threat, after the game.

According to ESPN’s Heather Dinich, Watkins suffered a sprained AC joint.

Clemson receiver Sammy Watkins sprained the AC joint in his shoulder, and his status is uncertain for next week’s game at NC State, according to a school spokesman. I’m told it’s not serious, but we’ll have to see how Watkins does through the week in preparation for NC State.
