Texas Vs. Texas A&M Final Score: Longhorns Hit Last-Second Field Goal To Win, 27-25

After Texas spent much of the first half punting -- even its only touchdown came right after a muffed punt -- the Longhorns came to life in the second half, rattling off 17 points in the third quarter to turn a nine-point deficit into an eight-point lead. Ryan Tannehill was ineffective and Texas pounced, opening the scoring on an interception return for a touchdown. Momentum was on the Longhorns' side.

A field goal and one-yard touchdown run by Cody Johnson later, Texas was on top after struggling through the first half. Tannehill’s struggles continued, with two second-half touchdowns to go along with one more for the first as the A&M offense hit a wall in the final 30 minutes.

Texas A&M added a field goal early in the fourth quarter, cutting the Texas lead to five, 24-19. Still, both offenses were stuck in neutral, trading punts again in the fourth quarter as time began to wind down. After a strong second quarter, Texas was unable to pick up critical first downs, giving A&M its chance to come from behind late in the fourth.

Finally, after setting for field goals for much of the game, the Aggies were able to punch it in, finding the end zone on 16-yard pass to Jeff Fuller. After review, the touchdown stood, and Texas A&M had a 25-24 lead with just under two minutes to go.

Texas' still had time, and its drive was jump-started by a personal foul that set the Longhorns up at their own 39. With just under a minute to go, Case McCoy took off, rushing for 25 yards and setting the Longhorns up at the Texas A&M 23.

With two seconds left on the clock, Texas lined up for a 40-yard field goal for the win. The field goal was good and Texas completed the comeback to down the Aggies in what will likely be the final meeting of these two teams for quite some time, 27-25.
