Know those games where the Nebraska Cornhuskers inexplicably fail to get the ball to Rex Burkhead on a consistent basis? This was not one of those games. Nebraska defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes on Friday by a final score of 20-7, thanks to a huge performance by Burkhead. He carried the ball 38 times for 159 yards and a touchdown as his team controlled the clock en route to an easy win.
Iowa Vs. Nebraska Final Score: Huskers Win Easily As Rex Burkhead Dominates
Iowa's touchdown came late in garbage time with the game already sewn up for the Huskers, with Marcus Coker scoring on a two-yard rush. The Iowa defense struggled to get the ball back all game, as Iowa recorded 25 first downs and went 9-19 on third down, leading to their control of the clock and the scoreboard. The Huskers can't get to a BCS bowl, but will be happy to close out their inaugural Big Ten season on a high.
