Georgia Tech has won one game against Georgia since the Jackets’ victory in 2000, and this year probably was not the best time to try to break up the Bulldogs’ run. The key for Georgia was a 17-point run that began late in the second quarter and continued through the third, putting the game out of reach. Aaron Murray showed off his All-SEC potential again, going 19-of-29 for 251 yards and four touchdowns against one interception. The Dogs' attrition-racked running game put together a pedestrian 129 yards on the day.
Georgia Tech's ground game was also bottled up on the day compared to the usual day. The Jackets ground out 243 yards rushing, and even their passing numbers were a touch shy of the season average for Paul Johnson's triple-option offense.
Georgia heads into the SEC Championship Game next week to play LSU, while Georgia Tech waits to hear about its bowl fate.
