A dominant defensive performance and twenty point second quarter by the Oklahoma Sooners clinched 26-6 win over the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday afternoon in Norman. One week after upsetting the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Cyclones offense mounted little threat against an overwhelming Sooners defense. ISU's only touchdown came in the first quarter after Oklahoma botched a snap on a punt attempt and put the Cyclones on the ten yard line. It would be their only score.
Oklahoma Vs. Iowa State Final Score: Blake Bell And Michael Hunnicutt Carry Sooners To Twenty Point Win
Landry Jones struggled, throwing two interceptions but another Sooner quarterback would provide an unexpected scoring boost. Dual-threat freshman quarterback Blake Bell carried the ball only eight times for 14 yards on the afternoon, but managed to punch in the Sooners' only two touchdowns on the day. Bell took it in from three yards and one yard in the second quarter, giving OU an 11 point cushion. Kicker Michael Hunnicutt went a perfect four for four on the day to round out the Sooners' scoring, giving them the comfortable 20 point home win.
