Border War 2011 Final Score: Missouri Bids Kansas Adieu

The Missouri Tigers are leaving the Big 12, and taking bragging rights with them until the Kansas Jayhawks decide they'd like another shot. The last scheduled game in the Border War series, the nation's second-longest running rivalry, finished with a 24-10 Mizzou victory.

KU made a go of it, running out to a 10-0 advantage that entertained visions of a blue-decked Turner Gill on the sidelines in 2012.

Despite three James Franklin interceptions, the Tigers used a committee rushing attack -- four players exceeded 24 yards, but only Kendial Lawrence topped 50 -- to overrun Kansas' squishy ground defense.

The Tigers are in line for a bowl bid, perhaps the worst one the Big 12 can convince its affiliated exhibitions to extend, while Kansas puts together its second straight mortifying campaign on Gill’s watch. If you said this was Gill’s last game against Missouri, nobody would laugh at you.
