Of course, Iowa led Minnesota 21-10 in the fourth quarter before losing that one. So don’t give up on Michigan in this one just yet.

The helmet idea was reportedly that of Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz. The right side of the helmet will sport the tigerhawk and the left side of the helmet will be left black, in honor of all men and women of all branches of the military who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The Wolverines are, unsurprisingly, favorites for this weekend’s game in Iowa City, playing a wounded Iowa squad. SB Nation projects Michigan to wind up in the Capitol One bowl following the regular season, Iowa is currently headed towards Ticketcity glory. It’s never smart to count out anyone in the helter skelter world of college football. Still, Kirk Ferentz has the incredibly tall task of rebuilding his team’s confidence mid stride.
