Chad Morris Of Clemson Joins Million-Dollar Coordinators Club

The Clemson Tigers have made Chad Morris one of the highest-paid coaches in the land, and he's only an offensive coordinator. After being highly sought by Urban Meyer's Ohio St. Buckeyes and others, Morris saw his value shoot through the roof:

Bruce Feldman@BFeldmanCBS Clemson OC Chad Morris just inked a 6-yr, $7.8 mil deal, per a source. (That more than some Big Ten & Big 12 HCs made this yr)

That’s more money than head coaches such as Pat Fitzgerald and Kevin Sumlin made last year. It’s more than twice what Washington State paid head coach Paul Wulff. That’s the market for a top-notch coordinator, it seems.

Clemson isn't in the Orange Bowl due to its No. 59 defense. Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins have proved to be explosive implements after just one year of Morris' direction, with the Tigers scoring a full touchdown more per game than they did in 2010.
