Oklahoma wide receiver Kenny Stills has been suspended for the season opener against Tulsa in response to his DUI arrest earlier this year. Stills is arguably one of the top targets in the Big 12, and is expected to play a major role in an explosive Oklahoma offense. He had 61 receptions for 786 yards and five touchdown as a freshman last season.
Oklahoma Receiver Kenny Stills Suspended, Will Miss Season Opener Against Tulsa
Stills was arrested along with cornerback Tony Jefferson in January back in their hometown of San Diego. Jefferson also played a significant role as a freshman last season, recording 65 tackles, two sacks and two interceptions. There is no word yet on whether Jefferson will be punished as well. He was cited for interfering with the official process, escaping any alcohol-related charges.
Stills' absence isn't likely to affect the team too much in what should be a breezy win for the Sooners. OU still has Ryan Broyles available, who is coming off 131 reception season with 1,622 yards and 14 touchdowns.
