The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks will take on the Missouri Tigers in Columbia in the season opener for both teams. Missouri should be the clear favorites in this matchup, coming into the game ranked 21st in both the AP and USA Today Coaches polls. They have the potential to move even higher if new starting quarterback James Franklin can find a rhythm early in the season. The Missouri Tigers are the clear favorites over the Redhawks in will be an important tuneup for quarterback James Franklin.


The Tigers travel to Arizona State, Oklahoma and Kansas State in their first five games, so the Redhawks are a critical tuneup for Franklin and co. Miami does have enough talent to potentially make this game interesting. The Redhawks are coming off a MAC championship in 2010, and will return both starting quarterbacks from last year, Zac Dysert and Austin Boucher. The passing game could be formidable, which may mean that this game is closer at halftime than the Tigers would like.
