When it was announced that LSU Tigers wide receiver Russell Shepard had been suspended by the NCAA for the season-opener against Oregon, there was a caveat that he would also be suspended for "a number of games more."
LSU WR Russell Shepard Will Serve Three-Game Suspension, According To Report
According to Randy Rosetta of TigerSportsDigest.com, that number is three.
Shepard was suspended for speaking with a teammate about that player’s meeting with NCAA officials prior to Shepard’s own meeting related to Willie Lyles.
Along with the Tigers win over the Ducks, Shepard will miss this weekend's game against Northwestern State and a road trip against the No. 16 Mississippi State Bulldogs. He will be eligible for the Sept. 24 game against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Shepard ranked second on team with 33 catches for 254 yards last season, adding 226 rushing yards on 32 carries with three total touchdowns.
