Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill is all over the place in NFL Draft circles. Some analysts have Tannehill as a first-round pick while others have him as a second- or third-round project. NFL.com Draft analyst Mike Mayock said in a conference call on Wednesday that he feels Tannehill should and will be a first round pick in April's NFL Draft.
Mike Mayock Says Ryan Tannehill Is A First Round Pick In 2012 NFL Draft
“He’s got everything you want. He’s got size, he’s got arm strength, really good athlete. All you have to do is look at his tape as a wide receiver two years ago. He’s a big, fast kid with a really good arm.”
The biggest question Mayock had about the quarterback prospect was his ability to make anticipation throws at the NFL level. Typically that’s something that comes with experience and Tannehill doesn’t have a lot of that at the quarterback position, playing his first two years at Texas A&M at wide receiver.
