McGinn has Tannehill rated as his third quarterback in the draft, as do most draft experts right now. Intelligence was never really an area of concern for Tannehill by most scouts, but scoring high on the Wonderlic certainly can’t hurt his chances of being successful.

A lot of people are going to attribute this to the recent wave of hype that Tannehill has been gaining as the “other” possible first-round quarterback. McShay isn’t necessarily wrong, as most scouts tend to believe Tannehill is more athletic and has a stronger arm, but Matt Barkely is widely believed right now to be the first quarterback taken in the 2013 NFL Draft, so it’s certainly going to ruffle some feathers.

According to Charean Williams at Cowboys Corner, Tannehill had a strong showing in his workout, which drew 60 scouts from 22 NFL teams. Tannehill had been unable to compete at the 2012 NFL Combine in Indianapolis due to a stress fracture in his right foot, but showed no signs of being hampered by the injury on Thursday.
Tannehill completed 65 of 68 passes, which included two dropped balls. He also ran a 4.62 time in the 40-yard dash.

The 2012 NFL draft is a month away and there’s plenty of intrigue surrounding Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill, who is widely considered the third best quarterback in the draft. He suffered a broken foot in January so he hasn’t worked out for NFL scouts -- until Thursday’s pro day, that is.
Tannehill has only been a starter for a season and half so there are still question marks with him. He’ll be the third quarterback off the board behind Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, possibly as high as the top 10, or even the top five.

Tannehill broke his foot in January so he missed a couple of opportunities to work out for NFL scouts, including the Senior Bowl and NFL Combine. Because of that, this pro day is highly anticipated.
CBSSports.com reports that Tannehill will only run the 40-yard dash and throw.

The highest he could go, barring an unforeseen trade, would be the Cleveland Browns with the fourth pick. Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer reports that Tannehill will take a pre-draft visit with the Browns.
The Browns, and every other NFL team, are allowed to bring in 30 players for pre-draft visits.

The biggest question Mayock had about the quarterback prospect was his ability to make anticipation throws at the NFL level. Typically that’s something that comes with experience and Tannehill doesn’t have a lot of that at the quarterback position, playing his first two years at Texas A&M at wide receiver.

According to Pat Yasinskas of ESPN, Tannehill is making fast progress in his recovery from the injury. The QB is expected to head to Indianapolis during the Combine for testing and meeting with teams, but will not participate in drills. Tannehill expects to be ready to go in time for his pro-day workout at the end of March.
Although he will be missing the Combine, it is good news for him that he is healing so quickly. There is still a good chance that he could be selected in the first round.
