2012 NFL Draft: Browns May Not Be High On Ryan Tannehill At No. 4

Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been a hot name in NFL Draft circles lately, as many experts think he could climb into the Top 10 of the 2012 NFL Draft. One of the teams believed to be a potential landing spot for Tannehill is the Cleveland Browns, but Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer believes the Browns' interest is if they trade down in the draft, not at the No. 4 overall pick.

I'd still be stunned if the Browns took him at No. 4, because he is not NFL ready. That's supposed to be the case with Robert Griffin III and Andrew Luck, the top two quarterbacks. I don't think the Browns' recent support of Colt McCoy is a smoke screen so they can grab Tannehill. I believe they would rather go with McCoy for another year and keep adding strong players on offense and defense with the top picks rather than jump at Tannehill.

Pluto notes that the Browns are interested in Tannehill and would like to be able to either trade down and draft him or hope that he lasts until their second first-round pick at No. 22 overall. If this is the case, this would free the Browns up to take another offensive player like running back Trent Richardson or wide receiver Justin Blackmon.
