The South Carolina Gamecocks need ace running back Marcus Lattimore to return at full force if they're going to make another run for the SEC title. The former SEC Freshman of the Year missed spring practice while recovering from his left knee injury, but says that since missing the final six games of 2011, he's thrown himself into more of a complete preparation plan:

But Lattimore acknowledges he didn’t know as much as he could about the offense or follow training guidelines as closely as possible. For example, he didn’t always use cool tubs and hot tubs to soothe or perk up muscles worn from working at their peak.
It might not sound like much, but in Lattimore’s eyes, it was the difference between a so-so gain and a long run toward the end zone. “I’ll never take my legs for granted again,” he said.
Pretty amazing that there are humans out there who can gain 2,609 total yards in 20 games, most of them against SEC defenses, despite not spending every moment taking care of their legs. Well, at least one such human. If Lattimore’s able to keep himself healthy the rest of the way, just about everyone’s in trouble.
