The Oklahoma Sooners got some disappointing academic news on Monday, as Juco wide receiver Courtney Gardner and offensive lineman Will Latu failed to get in. The solace is that Gardner should be available next season. Also, redshirt freshman Dylan Dismuke is no longer on the team.

Big 12 Preview by Bill Connelly

Oklahoma's wide receiver depth has been hammered since late last season, from Ryan Broyles' injury to the dismissals of Jaz Reynolds and Trey Franks. Another player formerly plagued by academic troubles, Trey Metoyer, steps in as the star at the position and is accompanied by heralded freshmen, but a little bit of experienced help would be great.

Bob Stoops did say that a final decision on Reynolds status will come later this week.
