The Oklahoma Sooners have suspended defensive tackle Stacy McGee, the fifth player to violate team rules this offseason.
Oklahoma Football Suspends DT Stacy McGee Indefinitely
It has been a tough offseason for the Oklahoma Sooners and it got even tougher on Friday when Stacy McGee was suspended indefinitely. The defensive tackle violated university policy, not team policy, and will be out until head coach Bob Stoops and the university say otherwise.
Four players were suspended indefinitely earlier this summer for a violation of team rules and later on, one of those four (Kameel Jackson) was dismissed from the team. Now McGee makes it five Sooners to be suspended this offseason.

The dismissal marks the end of a tumultuous offseason for Jackson and the Sooners. Jackson was one of four players suspended indefinitely in May for a violation of team rules. On Twitter, Jackson said the suspension was due to his, “failure to meet my class attendance policy.”
Following the suspension Jackson announced he was planning to transfer to Texas A&M although he later decided to stay at Oklahoma. Earlier this week, Stoops said he would review Jackson’s suspension now that the receiver completed summer classes.

Earlier in the week, Brown described the OU contact as light, but obviously urgency is ramping up here.
Brown, a senior and former four-star recruit, stands 6’3 and 209 pounds, ranking second on PSU’s receiving list last year with 35 catches for 517 yards. He would solve the experience problem for Oklahoma, whose receiving corps has been rocked by all manner of affliction, having played in 36 career games.

Getty ImagesWhile they’ll have to sit out 2012, each is an intriguing prospect. The 5’9 Saunders posted 1,156 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore, posting a ridiculous 21.3 yards-per-catch average. That’s second in the country to only Stephen Hill. Oklahoma’s receiving corps is perhaps already the deepest in the country, so adding a tiny long bomb threat could be terrifying. The only catch: he doesn’t want to play in the slot, despite being small. That’s why he’s leaving Fresno, in fact.
Johnson doesn’t boast quite those numbers, but was in the running for a starting job this year before following Mike Stoops from Arizona. He played in eight games as a freshman.
