Louisville had its way with Kentucky in the season-opening Governor’s Cup on Sunday, winning by a score of 32-14. The Cardinals went into halftime with a 22-7 advantage and maintained their momentum as the game went on in the second half.
A field goal four minutes into the third quarter extended the Cardinals’ lead to 18 points. Then, Jeremy Wright rushed for his third touchdown of the game with a one-yard run with 4:37 to go in the third quarter.

Louisville is being picked by some to win the Big East this season, for what it’s worth. But this year’s campaign starts with the Wildcats, who are getting 50/1 odds to win the East and 200/1 to win the SEC.
Even though the Cardinals are a favorite, opening the season with a win over an SEC opponent will be good for them if they can make it happen. Cardinals defensive coordinator Vance Bedford is certainly interested to see how his unit is going to come out:
