Jay Finch Injury: Georgia Tech Starter Leaves Game, Returns

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets nearly suffered an unfortunate injury, with center Jay Finch leaving the game against the No. 16 Virginia Tech Hokies. He returned midway through the fourth quarter.

Finch is the lynchpin of the offensive line. It was said on the telecast by ESPN on Monday night that Yellow Jackets head coach Paul Johnson has stated Finch would be the hardest player to lose for his team.

The junior started 12 games in 2011, helping lead Georgia Tech to some of the best rushing numbers in the nation. Finch is a mauler and definitely provides some of the toughest blocks to execute in the Yellow Jackets’ option system.
