NFL Combine results 2013: Cornelius Washington among top linebackers

Cornelius Washington may have boosted his draft stock with a strong performance in Scouting Combine drills.

The 2013 NFL Scouting Combine continued on Monday, with on-the-field workouts and drills for defensive linemen and linebackers. There’s some incredibly impressive players out there, primarily from the top-end of the draft, but there’s also the good amount of players from the later rounds who are trying to boost their stock.

Georgia linebacker Cornelius Washington may be one of those players who gets a bump in the draft rankings after his performance at the combine.

Washington has an official 40-yard dash time of 4.55 seconds, which is among the highest of his position group. Plenty of players still have yet to have their times go official, but Washington should still finish relatively high. As a pass rusher, this can only help his stock.

On top of that, he also put up 36 reps on the bench press, which was the highest of his position, by far. Connecticut linebacker Sio Moore put up 29 reps. Washington's 36 reps was only two spots down from the top defensive linemen, Margus Hunt and Brandon Williams.

Washington has been considered a late pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Many have him going anywhere from the end of the fifth round to actually going undrafted. Teams won’t put all of their stock in the NFL combine but Washington may have solidified himself as a draft pick with his performance in Indianapolis.
