The biggest name to show off for NFL Scouts on Wednesday was Star Lotulelei, but he was far from the only guy to make a case for his draft stock: several schools with quarterbacks and wide receivers who will definitely be selected held Pro Days.
Pro day results 2013: Tennessee, Baylor, NC State held workouts Wednesday
Tennessee’s Justin Hunter and NC State’s David Amerson improved on their combine results, while Baylor’s Lanear Sampson ran a blistering 4.35 40, possibly making him a late-round pick.
Now, not everybody was running for scouts — a few guys opted to rest on their combine stats — but some that did impressed. Here’s a look at what happened elsewhere Wednesday in pro days at Tennessee, NC State, and Baylor:
Tennessee
Three of the best receivers in the NFL draft were on display in Knoxville with all 32 NFL teams present, and not all of them played for Tennessee last year: the Vols allowed Da’Rick Rogers, who was kicked off the team for failing a drug test before transferring to Tennessee Tech, to come back and use their facilities on pro day. Like Cordarrelle Patterson and Justin Hunter, Dan Kadar thinks he will be one of the top ten wide receivers off the board in April. Of the three, Hunter had the most notable day:

Justin Hunter goes 11-6 and 40-5 in the broad and vertical jumps at Tennessee's pro day, bettering what he did at the combine.

None ran the 40, but Patterson did the shuttle, which he did not at the draft — he ran a 4.40 in the short shuttle and an 11.72 in the long.
Quarterback Tyler Bray, expected to be drafted on the second day, did not do any drills, though he was the guy throwing to Hunter, Patterson, and Rogers. The most interesting news related to Bray, though, had nothing to do with his performance at the pro day:

Offensive lineman Dallas Thomas did not participate due to injury.
NC State
Like Bray, potential high quarterback pick Mike Glennon did not do any drills, simply throwing. David Amerson, projected to go in the second round, sat on his 4.44 40 time from the combine, but improved on both his broad jump and his long jump, managing 38.5 inches and 132 inches, which will only improve his stock. Earl Wolff, a strong safety who could be a third-day selection, managed a 36-inch vertical jump.
Baylor
The guy to watch here would have been Terrance Williams, also an elite wide receiver, but he opted to sit on his combine numbers as well. However, a less-touted wide receiver, Lanear Sampson, impressed:

Sampson isn't expected to be drafted, and a 4.46 time at the combine did not help the 5'11 wide receiver. If he actually did run a 4.35, that would be unbelievable: it would have been the third-best among wide receivers, behind just Tavon Austin. His stock certainly improves as a result of this — we'll see if it's enough to get him selected.
