Notre Dame pro day: Manti Te’o among prospects working out

Te’o disappointed many with a slow 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine, but can improve on that Tuesday.

Scouts and NFL talent evaluators will be at Notre Dame on Tuesday, where several draft prospects, including Heisman Trophy candidate Manti Te'o, will run through various tests and drills. Te'o may not even be the best prospect in attendance, though, as Tyler Eifert is ranked by many as the top tight end in the 2013 NFL Draft.

At the 2013 NFL Combine, Eifert showed off impressive athleticism for a 6'6, 250-pound player, finishing the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds and recording a 35.5-inch vertical jump. The strong performance in Indianapolis could lead Eifert to pass on the pro day on Tuesday. Te'o wasn't as successful at the combine, though, finishing his 40-yard dash in 4.82 seconds, which can be summed up by Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh's reaction.

Other prospects that will look to take advantage of the opportunity to impress scouts on Tuesday include a pair of running backs, Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood, each of whom are considered mid-to-late-round draft picks.

Defensive tackle Kapron Lewis-Moore just barely made it on to Dan Kadar's list of the top 200 prospects in the draft at No. 196; however, he is unlikely to participate after he tore his ACL during the BCS National Championship against the Alabama Crimson Tide.
